Generally leading the life of an itinerant musician, and simultaneously that of a programmer who has not always had short commutes. At various times, I commuted from Poughkeepsie to Irvington (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=poughkeepsie&daddr=irvington,+ny&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=36.080271,-84.973973&sspn=21.113906,45.703125&ie=UTF8&z=9) and Albany to White Plains (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Albany,+NY&daddr=white+plains&sll=41.37276,-73.845815&sspn=1.228415,2.856445&ie=UTF8&z=8), not to mention the regular trips to NJ and farther afield for gigs.
And in a couple of weeks, it's off to Princeton, IL (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Albany,+NY&daddr=Princeton,+IL&sll=41.841545,-73.97074&sspn=2.439037,5.712891&ie=UTF8&z=6) for summer stock. Oddly enough, this car has never yet been to Pennsic.
I can sort of relate. My Civic Hybrid was bought in late November 2003 and has about 127,000 - 130,000 miles on it now. Not quite as significant as your's, but way higher than most people can believe. I make it through my hour-long commute to/from work with a stereo with a Bluetooth speaker phone (for unexpectedly receiving calls -- I try to avoid making calls while driving) and AUX input abilities. I've been using an iPod since the first, Mac-only, $400 model. Podcasts and Creative Commons music are so very useful.

I love Into the Woods -- I got to see it on Broadway, even. Never seen the film, though; how is it?
